Question: I am an incoming Undergraduate student where can I find more information?

Question: When was the housing deadline to have approved SDAO accommodations to participate in the 2025-2026 housing process?

Answer: Students must have received an approved SDAO accommodation by February 26 to participate in the 2025-2026 housing process. 

Question: What can I do if I have missed the housing deadline to have approved SDAO accommodations to participate in the 2025-2026 housing process?

Answer: You may proceed with applying for SDAO accommodations however, adding accommodations will not change your room selection process in April. You will still need to continue through the room selection process and select your assignment. If your room assignment outcome does not meet your accommodation, you will need to apply for reassignment in June when the application re-opens. 

Question: I am Interested in accommodations; how do I begin the process?

Answer: Students can use the following link to submit a request form: Log in to the Accommodate Student Portal. Please note: you must use your Duke Unique ID and email address (firstname.lastname@duke.edu) to log in. Using your Student ID and/or net ID will not allow you to sign in to the portal. 

Question: What documentation do I need to submit with my request for accommodations?

Question: How can I schedule a meeting with a SDAO coordinator?

Answer: Once we have received your request and it has been processed, you will be emailed a scheduling link to meet with a coordinator. Media

Question: I am still waiting on my provider to obtain my medical documentation to submit with my request; can I move forward with making a request and submit my documentation after I get it?

Answer: Yes, you can submit your request without your documentation. However, once you receive the scheduling link to meet with a coordinator, it may be helpful to schedule your meeting based on when you expect to receive your documentation. This way, your coordinator will have the necessary information to provide official accommodations.

Question: I didn't submit my documentation with my request, do I need to submit another request now?

Answer: While it's preferred to include documentation with your request, if you didn't submit it originally, you can simply email it to sdao@duke.edu, and we will add it to your file.

Question: Does SDAO provide student testing? 

Answer: No, SDAO does not provide student testing. Students can schedule with the Duke Testing Center. For more information, please visit their website at, Duke Testing Center Link.

Question: I have received housing accommodations; do I need to reapply for housing accommodations each term?

Answer: Any housing accommodations that you have been approved for will remain with you through your tenure at Duke. Housing will have your accommodations; you just need to pay attention to your email each term for housing information.
