Classroom Building - Limited Access

October 26, 2020

Emergency repairs due to a sinkhole behind Classroom Building (west side) will close the handicapped ramp while the repairs are in process.  Access to the building will be temporarily limited during the repairs (and current elevator replacement).  Current estimates are that repairs will take less than one week.

Trinty Quad Improvements - East Campus - through April 2021

October 8, 2020

The open area between Blackwell, Trinity, Randolph, Bell Tower, Southgate and Gilbert-Addoms is being developed as a Quad with improved connecting paths, plaza and landscaping.  Work will start late October 2020 with completion scheduled for the end of April 2021.  Some paths will be blocked off during this time but access to all the buildings will remain available.

Face Coverings Are Required on the East Campus and Al Buehler Trails

Given the difficulty of maintaining distance on popular running/walking trails on Duke’s campus, face coverings are now required for use of the East Campus Trail and the Al Buehler Trail. Also, while Duke’s facilities are generally open to the public, private groups such as fitness clubs are not allowed to use Duke’s campus without prior approval.

Classroom Building - Elevator Out of Service until December 2020

The elevator in Classroom Building on East Campus is out of service for replacement.  It is expected to be back in service by the end of December 2020.

Alternate Access during Graduate Admissions Closure

The Graduate Admissions building will be closed for renovation through December 2020.  Access to the Financial Aid office at the rear (south) of the GA building will be via the indicated path.

Hanes Hall Steam Line Replacement - Suspended - New ETA Pending

November 11, 2019

A portion of the Hanes Hall parking lot will be closed during steam line replacement though the work has been suspended for the Covid-19 lockdown.  An updated timeframe will be posted once it is determined when work can be restarted.

Emergency egress will be maintained via the route indicated in green on the plan.

Access via the main entrance of Hanes Hall (on the east side of the building on Trent Drive) will not be impacted by this work.
